After getting sentenced to two years' jail by a Punjab court, TV actress Alka Kausal is all set to be replaced in TV show Santoshi Maa. She plays the role of a godwoman in the show. The actress is the daughter of renowned theatre artist Vishwa Mohan S. Badola and Susheela Badola, and the sister of popular TV actor Varun Badola who has worked in shows like Koshish Ek Asha and Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand. According to a Hindustan Times report, Alka and her mom had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from a farmer Avtar Singh, a resident of Langrian village, to make a TV show.
As payment to Avtar, they issued him a cheque of Rs 25 lakh each that bounced apparently, according to the farmer's advocate. He then moved to a local court in 2015 which sentenced the two to two years' jail.
