I have this old aimpoint 2000 red dot sight i bought it brandy new probably 30/35 years ago maybe even longer. It was 200 dollars back then! ((yes $200.00 in 1970s money!!!) (my mortage payment was only $195.00) most money i ever spent on a sight to this day considering what it took to get together 200 dollars for a new toy back when i was only making 4 dollars a hour) i haven't been able to find batteries for it in years, so now i have this sight that cost more than my mini 14 i bought in 1974. And i can't use it. ANYBODY know where i can get a couple, or have a battery to sell??
Does anyone even make that battery anymore??? View Quote i remember it coming with 2 diffrent battery caps. And i don't remember which cap i have on it or if i still have the other one. I'm a pack rat so ican't see me throwing it away.
Probably lost in a parts draw somewhere. I remember the battery i used was a little more than a 1/2 inch long. Now that i'm thinking about it if i remember it correctly, it came with 2 small batteries installed. And i switch it over to the 1 longer battery.( but my remembering isn't as good as it once was). I didn't expect such fast responce from you folks. I'm going to have to dig the scope out and see what i have.
I do know i took the battery out a LONG time ago because it was dead and i didn't want it to leak, so that battery is lost long ago now.as it sat around for years while i was searching for a replacement. Thanks for the link i'll search it out tonight. And thanks for both replys. A1PX or LR50. Get them online or at a place like interstate, you will need 2 of them. DO NOT STICK 123's in any Aimpoint sight.
In the old eltontric it can get stick in the sight and when you pull it out it will bring the insulation sleev and contact with it disrptroying the sight. On a 2000, 123's have vent holes in the positive end. They can get the contact stuck in the hole, and pull it out. This will destroy the sight.
BTW Aimpoint can not repair eirther of these sights due to parts being out of production.

It is in the original box with user manual, rubber lens cover and the new batteries. PLEASE READ THE PAYMENT & SHIPPING INFORMATION POSTED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION.
IT MAY SAVE TIME FOR BOTH OF US. BEFORE YOU ASK WHAT THE RESERVE IS, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING RESERVE AUCTION We do not disclose the Reserve on our “RESERVE AUCTIONS” because doing so defeats the purpose of the auction.
Disclosing makes it a “Sale”, not an auction, much like a classified listing. Most of the firearms we offer at auction are on consignment with us from one of our clients. Our commitment to our clients is to obtain the highest fair market price possible for their firearms.
Thus, we prefer the Reserve Auction and the “HAGGLE” feature offered by Auction Arms. About 50% of our sales are completed via the Haggle. In a Reserve auction if the high bidder does not reach the reserve by the end the auction the high bidder or the seller may institute what Auction Arms calls a Haggle a one-on-one exchange between buyer and seller to try and come to a mutual agreement on a price.
If you are not familiar with the Haggle process, click on Auction Arms “Help & Info” for complete details. For those items that are not on consignment we usually offer a convenient “Buy-It-Now” price.
